Let us know how we can help.
NCC exists to help residents of the KC Northland area who are facing financial or emergency hardships by providing free clothing assistance. Each individual served by NCC has a volunteer who is their “personal shopper.” Each person has the opportunity to select a wardrobe of clothing to sustain their needs for school and work, and to successfully maintain their lives in the community. NCC serves all people – from newborns to seniors – anyone in our community who has a need for adequate, clean, well-fitting clothing.
Clothing assistance appointments:
We are happy to serve all people who need free clothing. We do not offer walk-in/anytime service. We have limited space and a very dedicated volunteer staff who help with fittings and selections. We coordinate through appointments to make sure that we have staff available to assist everyone who needs help.
For Non-Emergency Situations:
We serve KC Northland residents on a per-appointment basis. Individuals and families requesting clothing assistance must work with a referral agent to set up your appointment. For those who have school-aged children, their school social worker or early childhood education / Head Start program can make the referral. If not, you can work with a human service agency, shelter, faith-based organization, or any other social service agency. Please choose an organization that you are most familiar with or comfortable with.
When you are ready to arrange an appointment to receive free clothing from NCC, please contact one of the referring agencies listed below or your school counselor or any other social service agency, faith-based organization, shelter, or other agency with which you have a connection.
Emergency Situations:
If you need to refer someone in the KC Northland on an emergency basis – immediate removal from the home due to domestic violence or other situation, loss of a job, sudden change in housing status – we will do our best to offer expedited priority access to emergency appointments. Use the Contact Form on this website, and please be sure you note your request as an emergency. You can also contact the United Way by calling 2-1-1 and they can help in emergency situations as well.
